Add-Ons

Three extras that attach to a booked session. None of them is bookable on its own.

Each one adds 10 minutes to the appointment. Ask for them at checkout or tell your therapist before you start.

Heated basalt stones worked over the back and shoulders. Included at no charge with any massage.

Suction cups placed along the back. They leave round marks that fade over a few days — say so at the start if you would rather skip it.

A salt and oil scrub over the back and limbs before the massage oil goes on.

Not sure where to start

How do you choose between 6 services?

Pick the goal first, then the session. 6 common reasons for booking are matched below to the treatment that fits. The NIH's National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health describes massage therapy as generally safe for most people, so the choice is mostly about what you want out of the hour.

What you want Book Time Price
Everything, on a first visit Massage + Lymphatic Facial 90 min $128 first visit, $188 after
Full-body work, gentle or firm Body Massage 60 min $90
Two people, one room Couples Massage 60 min $180 for both
Puffiness around the face and neck Lymphatic Facial Massage 30 min $84
Comfort during pregnancy Prenatal Massage 60 min $120
Tired feet and one spare hour Foot + Body Combo 60 min $78

How long should you book?

Sixty minutes suits most first visits — long enough for the therapist to cover the whole body without rushing the part that actually hurts. Book 45 minutes at $80 when one shoulder needs attention and your lunch break is short. At 90 minutes there is room to go back over the tight areas, and the 120 minute session at $180 is for days you would rather not watch the clock. Coming in with a sore lower back? Read our guide to what massage can and cannot do for back pain before you pick a length.

Is deep tissue a separate booking?

No. Deep tissue massage is a pressure you request on the Body Massage, not a separate line on the menu, so the price and the length are the same either way. Tell your therapist how firm you want the work when you get on the table, and say so again mid-session if it needs to change. The deep tissue page goes through what that hour feels like.

Can you book a facial on its own?

No — there is no standalone facial here. The facial is the Lymphatic Facial Massage, booked at 30 or 50 minutes, or the second half of the 90 minute Combo. The 50 minute version at $168 gives the same light rhythmic work more time on the face and neck; the 30 minute one is the quicker pass.

What comes with a session at no extra charge?

Organic massage oil, hot towels, and a 10 minute hot stone add-on if you want it — all included with any massage. Cupping and the body scrub are the two paid extras, and both are listed under add-ons above. If you have not had cupping before, our plain-English cupping guide explains the round marks before you commit to them.

Booking for two, or booking while pregnant?

Two people share one room with two tables and two therapists, and the listed price covers both, which works out the same per person as booking the hour alone. This is the couples massage Palo Alto guests book for anniversaries and birthdays, most often in the evening. For pregnancy, the Prenatal Massage is side-lying with bolsters and keeps the pressure moderate; tell us how far along you are when you book, and check with your doctor or midwife first if your pregnancy is high-risk.

Still deciding?

  1. Name the goal — relaxation, a stubborn shoulder, puffiness, a date night, sore feet. For plain relaxation, Mayo Clinic's overview of relaxation techniques is a good primer on keeping the effect going between visits.
  2. Pick the length. Shorter when one area needs work, longer when the whole week does.
  3. Book online or call (650) 567-8886. Buying for someone else? Gift cards let them choose the service and the length themselves.

New to booking bodywork anywhere, not just here? Tell your therapist where it hurts and how much pressure you want before the session starts, and say so again if it stops feeling right. Every session on this menu can be dialled up or down.

Good to know

Booking and pricing questions, answered

How do I book a massage at Organic Day Spa?

Book online through Square or call (650) 567-8886. Online booking shows live availability and takes about a minute. Menu prices are what you pay either way. We are at 200 California Avenue, Suite 180, Palo Alto, Monday 10:30 AM — 9:30 PM, Tuesday — Sunday 9:30 AM — 9:30 PM.

Can I ask for deep tissue pressure?

Yes, and it costs nothing extra. Deep tissue is a pressure you request on the Body Massage rather than a separate booking, so a 60 minute session is $90 whether you want Swedish or firm work. Say what you want at the start, and say so again during the hour if it is too much or not enough.

How early should I arrive, and what if I am running late?

Five minutes ahead is enough to park on 200 California Avenue, check in and tell your therapist where to focus. If traffic has you behind, call (650) 567-8886 and we will tell you what fits in the time that is left.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes — Fresha gift cards, bought online and redeemed against any service on this menu. The recipient picks the treatment and the length themselves, which is easier than guessing between a 30 minute facial and a 120 minute massage.

What should I wear?

Undress to the level you are comfortable with; you stay draped under a sheet for the whole session and only the area being worked on is uncovered. For the 30 minute Lymphatic Facial Massage you stay dressed, since the work is on the face and neck.

Can I add hot stone or cupping to my session?

Yes. Add-ons run 10 minutes each on top of a booked session: hot stone is included at no charge with any massage, cupping is $20 and a body scrub is $30. Ask for them when you book, or tell your therapist before the session starts.
